explaining my circumstance

. . .the King Abdullah Financial District, where the above is shot, with the collection of signature architectures, and before that the neighbourhood where I am at present, and before that Doha, the rain forest, and if you look there appears to be a bright-winged bird. . .

then we did a tour of some of the top metro stops on the blue line which runs right outside our suite at the Ascott Rafal. . . the parabolic mirror suspended above Qasr Al Hokm, قصر الحكم
. . .the cat on B1 of the Ascott. . . the people running from Riyadhi traffic, which does not stop, which does not indicate, which slides over, disregarding lanes, which has no lanes but is sometimes penalised for not keeping in them, which is courteously attended on by the Najm traffic police, which is an insurance company and commissioned so courteously to attend, as it is in its interests so to do.
Qasr Al Hokm by SALT. . .
. . .the first day in Riyadh would not have been complete without a nighttime jaunt to the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival. . .
. . .the sun setting as we pulled in to the showgrounds along with every loyal follower of falconry and even some women, scattered like peppercorns in the sea of white robes and redcheck headdresses. . .
. . .the equestrian show, the highlight, which did not excuse the rest of the show, for me, in my lagged state, depressingly ticky-tacky, an hypertrophied AMP show, with guns and hunting'n'fishing gear, military-scale drones, and well-impressed Saudi men (and some women) aspiring to the whole (favourite word here, a trigger word for me) experience, even the presence of art and poetry, dedicated to their majesties, the patrons, and falconry, did not relieve the fug I felt, but I did yell at the horses. . .

. . .yes, his handbag was on fire, both of them. By this time the day had exceeded all expectations. And I slept well, awakening, which must not be thought of as just roadworks, to this:
So ends my explanation of my present circumstance which it has taken me a week to collate. I have some catching up to do.
Love from Riyadh,
Simon
